Ask your team – What three people in your company, if you could clone them, would lead to your market domination? Write their names on the board.
Now ask – “What are the values that these three people embody?” Write these qualities down.
Your organization’s core values are in this list. Edit it. Circle really important ones. Strike ones that are not. Combine ones that are similar. Get it down to 3-7 values.
You’re done. Now communicate them!
Listen to people when they talk( but see if they listen back)
Follow through with what you say
Make it as easy for them as you can
Show them how it will service them
Return phone calls( BIG ONE) or emails now:)
We came up with three names for (Mario, Todd and Rob) our list when it was over our core values were 1) hardworking 2)dependable 3) efficient.
Great exercise, we are holding a job fair next week and this helped us define our core values so we can make better hiring decisions.
Simple exercise, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. Four core values that were helping us move toward market domination:
1. Get things done, hold people accountable, no excuses.
2. If challenged with a problem, it gets solved.
3. Work until the work is done.
4. Look for opportunities in the data.
