People that achieve great things love thier work. They don’t see it as a punishment or burden to be minimized. Work is a rewarding personal challenge. Each day you get to see what you can improve, accomplish, achieve, build and create.
What does “work” mean to you?
It’s means achieving a goal that is rewarding and fulfilling and also providing great value to the customer.
The old adage: “You never know what you’ve got till it’s gone” holds true for work. Remember during the peak of the recession when work seemed to be scarce? You realized what a privilege it is to have meaningful work. I try to think like that every day and honor it by giving it all that I have.
I always enjoyed my work, but always considered it to be work. I worked hard and started from nothing. As my business grew, I imagined selling it someday so I wouldn’t have to work so hard. A few years ago or so, I’ve come to realize I was getting in the way of making my business great. I still wanted to be a part of it and I emerged myself back into the development of my business and as it took on new life, I’m excited again about the everyday challenges and rewards it brings. Now I do look forward to each day I get to see what I can improve, accomplish, achieve, build and create.
Larry, thank you for being an inspiration and a mentor.
If people can find work that is satisfying beyond a paycheck, then it ain’t work. I love what I do because of the satisfaction I get being with super neat employees, meeting new customers, giving of our time to the community, and especially providing meaningful employment for many good people.
That’s not work. It’s having fun.
Larry, I just want to let you know that I appreciate what you do and how you go about doing it. I am in a partnership doing my dream work that I never thought I would be able to, and think daily is about 60 percent of the reason I decided to go for it. It also got my brother out of a situation in which he was slowly dying on the inside, and several businesses have been both started or seriously improved due to the information and encouragement that is sent to me every day. And real friendships in abundance. Not to my credit-its yours. So thanks.
