Freedom or Enslavement?

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

When we start a business, personal freedom is often a major component of what we want to get out of it.  We are willing to work long days and weeks for a time to achieve this freedom.  In the process however, many of us become captive, a slave to the business instead.  An employee can quit, but if we do, we lose everything.  We’re trapped.

The answer to freedom?  It’s in our head.  Think differently and act differently.  Make courageous personal change.

Break free.

Hi Larry-

Just wanted to let you know that your words today spoke so clearly to me! I’m trying to grow my little business, and am in the process of letting go of some responsibilities in order to focus on the big picture. Now I see that this is just one of many ‘letting go’ that I will have to do in order to obtain my goals. Thanks for the wise words, and keep up the good writing.

Best,

Larry,

This one of your best yet! I owned my own business for 28 years and felt like a slave most days. I couldn’t break free of thinking I was the only one who could manage all the personalities of my employees and customers. I was grossing 10,000,000. While barly making a profit.
I was more worried about who’s feathers I might ruffle than staying focused on the goals of the business and myself personally as well as the goals of my employees.

You have hit the nail on the head here if one is focused on what is best for themselves, the business AND the employees everyone will get what they need and should feel empowered, happy and FREE.

Keep up the good work. Thank you. Chris.

Larry,

Great perspectives!

What a difference when we feel like we are not being controlled by our circumstances.
