Human beings have been around for thousands of years, and in that time all or nearly all have lived in what we’d all “poverty”. Can 7 billion of us (learn how to and) lift ourselves out of poverty in just a couple hundred years? Not likely at all.
If a third or half have lifted themselves out of poverty by 2014, is that better than nobody having done so?
Larry,
Just read a very interesting book which refutes this belief about how long it’s going to take mankind to lift itself out of poverty. It’s called “Abundance, the Future is Better than You Think” by Peter Diamandis & Steven Kotler. Fascinating and inspirational. Well worth a read.
