"Forget your time"

Larry Janesky: Think Daily

When we live by the clock, we create stress.  “I have to do this by then, be here by then, do this in this much time, have so much to do this afternoon or tomorrow.  I have to get to this and get to that and look what time it is already…”

If we are overwhelmed, just forget time any more than you have to for the basics of your daily situation. Select the most important thing to work on.  Clear your desk otherwise. Work on one thing at a time; be present.  You can do anything, and you know it. It’s when you try to do everything at once, or hold many things in your mental waiting line, that you create stress.

Breathe.  Stop manufacturing time and be present to your biggest priority.  Enjoy your work.

Wow. Thank you for this! We are to be led by importance more than urgency.

This is so true, we never realize how much unneeded stress we put on ourselves .

People often make the misstake to overlook the benefits of passing time and change. All the new experiences gained through time add to the old person transforming them into someone “new”. How is an old friend who didnt see you for ages supposed to see and appreciate the new you when they only experienced the old version of yourself? How about those who have amnesia and only know you by your current actions?

Conflict often arises from thinking that we know someone and treat them by what we personally experienced through interacting with them in the past but everyone changes. Revisiting the past especially unpleasant situations is equal to recreating something from the past into the present. Why would we waist our precious moments on anything else but fully living in the present?
