Sometimes businesspeople get themselves into a crisis where they need help. We look for someone else to solve our problems – a new employee, a new manager, or an outside consultant. We want to believe this new person will solve our problems so badly, we relinquish responsibility to them.
This is almost always a mistake and usually ends badly. The right thing to do is to fix in us what has caused this crisis, set up a system that works to get better results, and THEN get good people to put into our system and let them take responsibility for it.
Right?
