And how do you make your prices clear and fair? We do that by providing detailed estimates, usually per line item. We do it all from plumbing to carpentry and our markups range from 20-50% based on the category of the line item. Higher on items we buy at wholesale, next tier on retail items, and on the low end for subs. I’ve read lots of articles that say don’t do this just give your clients a lump sum number i’ve read lots of articles that say don’t do this just give your clients a lump sum number, But I find it easier to explain over just giving them details line items.
