Many of us say we have been broken by something that happened or did not happen. But if we look at it again, many of those things were simply preferences. We’d rather have had this happen or not happen, but we will be ok that it didn’t or did not.
In fact, if we think on it even more, we can see that it was our preference based on what we knew at the time. Now that we’ve had to look at other options, we have found a new preference over the old one.
There is no failure or accidents. It simply a path we thought we could predict, but that was our error – thinking we could predict it. When what happens doesn’t match what we expected, see the expectations as the folly, not what happened as the disaster.
